CSO Artist Brings Home GenCon Accolades

CamoSpecs Online is proud to report that our own B1BFlyer received not one, but two awards in the GenCon 2008 Miniatures Painting Competition. When asked about his achievement, B1BFlyer had this to say:

"I would be lying if I said I wasn't surprised to see I had not only taken first but second place as well. The competition was very tough and I know it must have been a tough decision for the judges. I was motivated to enter this year when I was at GenCon 07 and noticed there was not a single CBT miniature represented. The Shilone is a custom scheme with stylized rising sun emblems and a lot of weathering. It was probably the fine detail that may have put me over the top on this one earning me a 1st place award. The Awesome is painted in the 2nd Magistracy Highlanders scheme and has more blending and highlights on each of the armor scales and I thought it would be my most competitive piece. Hopefully next year will have more of a showing and CBT miniatures will sweep the category!"

In 2006 B1BFlyer was recognized at the Origins competition for his Medusans Maelstrom, as was Adrian Gideon at GenCon for his Stacy Church MadCat. While 2007 did not see any CSO entries into the major con competitions, B1BFlyer has made up for it with his sweep this year. Keep up the great work guys!

Custom 'Mech Pulverizer Build

Welcome to this behind-the-scenes look at kitbashing the Pulverizer ‘Mech for the CSO Diorama at GenCon Indy 2008. I will start off by saying it was an honour and privilege to be entrusted with the task of bringing an as yet unknown ‘Mech design to life. Thanks go out to Ray and David (along with the other PTB, and Brent Evans) for making it possible.
